Favourite Garden Centres in the South West
  • Hardy Exotics

Not just a garden centre – an experience, with nothing but exotic plants that's worth a visit. It's like a mini Eden Project.

Gilly Ln, Whitecross, Penzance TR20 8BZ
  • Surreal Succulents

Primarily an online store, but with a seasonal outlet at Tremenheere Sculpture Gardens. A stop in the shop on the way in makes a visit to the sculptures even more worthwhile.

Tremenheere Sculpture Gardens, Gulval, Penzance TR20 8YL
  • St Austell Garden Centre

Centrally located in Cornwall, with a good range of aeoniums, tree ferns, and palms despite its modest size.

Boscundle Cl, Saint Austell PL25 3RJ
  • Trevisker Garden Centre

Small but stylish and modern, with a dog-friendly café and a nice selection of coastal plants like echium, eryngium, and palms.

    Trevisker Farm, Padstow PL28 8LD
  • West Somerset Garden Centre

Privately owned, serving Minehead, a Somerset town with surprisingly tropical gardens and public spaces. Not dog-friendly due to a resident cat on patrol.

    Mart Rd, Minehead TA24 5BJ
  • Almondsbury Garden Centre

Easy to reach from the M4/M5, with a large tropical section that's well stocked with palms, and tree ferns, but has recently started stocking more exotic plants like banana and echium.

    51-53 Over Ln, Almondsbury, Bristol BS32 4BP
  • Kemps Garden Centre

Well worth a follow on social media as they often post bargain palms, discount plants, and rare stock when available.

Westerleigh Rd, Westerleigh, Coalpit Heath, Bristol BS37 8QZ
